This painting is a representation of myself when I either look in the mirror or picture myself in my imagination. The contrast in paint application helps to show the uncertainty and unclarity of my beliefs about myself and my identity when I look in the mirror. I believe this uncertainty comes from cultural contrasts in everyday life and the resulting differences between what we believe about ourselves and who we actually are. The collaged copper wire replicates the essential drawing lines on the surface and in the space. My goal was to blend the surface in space.
